Kannur Co-operative Urban Bank

The Bank was incorporated in 01-05-1915 and started functioning on 24-05-1915, Under the Madras Co-operative Societies Act 1904.The registered office was at Kannur, and the area of operation was Kannur Municipality and Cantonment. The first Director Board meeting was held on 24-05-1915.

In 1969, The Kerala Co-operative Societies Act came in to force and the Bank is now working under this act. In 1969, The Banking regulation Act was made applicable to primary co-operative societies and now the bank is working under the license and control of Reserve Bank of India.

Present Area Of operation: Kannur Corporation, Kannur Cantonment, Chirakkal, Valapattanam, Mundery, kadambure, keezhallore, koodaly and Irikkoor Panchayath.

In the Year May 1945, Cannanore Urban Co.Op Society, converted into CannanoreCo.Op Urban Bank Ltd, 1534. The bank came under the Banking Regulation Act and obtained the branch license in 1985.
The bank started to expand its activities and purchased land on 7.10.1987 to construct the Head Office building and the building was inaugurated on 2.10.2001.
The modernization process started with introduction of computerization in the year 2002 and implemented Core Banking System on 27.11.2010.
As per the General Body meeting held on 3.8.2012 approved to change the name of the Bank as KANNUR CO.OPERATIVE URBAN BANK LTD, 1534 instead of Cannanore Co.Op Urban Bank Ltd. 1534.

R T G S and N E F T facility is available for easy fund transfer anywhere in India. We are member in the Chennai Bankers Clearing House and Electronic Clearing House at Thiruvananthapuram and provides C T S Clearing and E C S Clearing to our customers. We have installed A T M and provides transactions in all India basis and A T M cards of all banks are accepted at our A T M. Aadhar based A P B S and immediate money payment system will be introduced very soon. Now we are entering the cash less transaction scenario without delay.
