St. Teresa’s AIIILP School observed World Environment Day with a series of meaningful and engaging activities aimed at promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices among students.
The celebrations began with a special morning assembly, where students recited prayers dedicated to the Earth, followed by an inspiring speech by the Headmistress, who emphasized the role of young minds in environmental protection. A powerful pledge was taken by all students, affirming their commitment to preserving nature.
One of the key highlights of the day was the Tree Planting Drive, where each class planted a sapling on the school premises as part of the “Adopt a Tree” initiative. This act not only added greenery to the campus but also instilled a sense of responsibility in students to nurture and protect their environment.
A colorful Eco Parade followed, with students marching across the campus holding handmade placards and banners carrying messages about sustainability, climate action, and biodiversity. Dressed in traditional and eco-friendly attire, the students raised awareness through songs and slogans.
The day also featured a drawing and poster competition themed “Save Earth, Save Life”, where students showcased their creativity and concern for nature. Winners were awarded eco-friendly gifts and certificates.
As part of the Clean Campus Campaign, students actively participated in cleaning their surroundings, segregating waste, and learning about the harmful effects of plastic. The school also hosted a documentary screening and an interactive session led by a local environmentalist, who shared insights on reforestation and water conservation.
An Eco Exhibition organized by the school’s Environment Club displayed student-made models, recycled crafts, and informative charts on sustainable living practices.
The celebration concluded with a message from the school management encouraging families to continue green habits at home and become ambassadors of change.
